The collaboration began as early as around the year 2000 in the investment banking environment of one of the two institutions. CND took on tasks in the area of data centre infrastructure management early and provided specialised IMAC engineers for operational running. This collaboration was continuously developed and expanded over the years.
In parallel, CND was also active for the second large Swiss bank. There too it concerned complex and business-critical infrastructure environments in which stability and precision in ongoing operation are decisive. The experiences from both organisations now flow into the support of the united infrastructure.
Over time, CND supported a large number of systems, from classic enterprise platforms to specialised environments with high criticality and long life cycles. A large part of the work takes place directly in ongoing operation. This includes targeted interventions in the data centre, the resolution of faults, coordinated hardware interventions as well as the long-term support of infrastructure across several technology generations.
With the takeover and integration of the two banks, the complexity of the infrastructure has increased significantly. Here CND brings together the know-how from both worlds and ensures that this knowledge is preserved and effectively applied in operation.
Decisive here is not only technical expertise, but also an understanding of internal processes, security requirements and regulatory frameworks. CND is able to move safely within existing system landscapes and carry out interventions in a targeted way and with minimal impact on ongoing operation.
A key contribution lies in preserving infrastructure knowledge. Many of these systems have grown over years. CND ensures that this knowledge is not lost and can continue to be used, especially during migrations or changes.
CND also creates added value from a sustainability perspective. Existing systems are not replaced prematurely but continued to be operated sensibly. This extends usage cycles, reduces resource consumption and creates a stable foundation for future developments.
At the same time, CND helps to ensure that critical infrastructure knowledge remains available in Switzerland. Especially in sensitive environments, it is decisive that know-how is available locally and can be deployed quickly.
The services described here are part of our Data Center Services for Financial Service Providers and show how infrastructure modernisation can be implemented with measurable efficiency gains.
CND combines years of experience from two of the most demanding banking infrastructures in Switzerland with operational strength in data centre operation. The focus is on stability, reliability and a safe handling of complex, grown system landscapes.
