The focus, however, was not solely on technical modernisation. A key part of the implementation consisted of the targeted optimisation of data centre operations. Through infrastructural and structural adjustments, the energy consumption could be noticeably reduced.
The result is clearly measurable. Energy costs could be reduced by around 30 %, which at the same time led to a reduction of the CO2 footprint. The investments paid for themselves within 18 months. Since then, the bank has benefited from annual savings of over CHF 100,000.
The project shows that a structured renewal of data centre infrastructures not only stabilises the technical basis but also creates direct economic and sustainable benefit.
We regularly realise similar projects as part of our Data Center Services for Financial Service Providers.
CND brings operational experience in the data centre and IMACD expertise and keeps an eye on efficiency and energy consumption. That way an existing infrastructure can be developed further and the technical as well as economic effect proven in figures, here 30 percent lower energy costs.
